I started this today! I kind of can't believe how fast I'm working sometimes.<div><br /></div><div>Here's the sketch. This is the first in a lot of pieces I'll be making that are inspired by the antebellum aesthetic. The cutaways will show a white satin (good satin, not marshmallow satin, no worries) underneath. The collar and the ends of the sleeves will also be in the satin.</div><div><br /></div><div>The picture doesn't really do the taffeta justice - it's a dark red with a brighter shift. The velvet is also stunning - since it is antique. I'm a little scared just throwing it up on the dress form but it seems to be working out so far!
